The Servers and Bar Staff role at Backswing Brewing Omaha Taproom is vital to the brewery's continued success and reputation for outstanding service. As a member of the serving and bar team, you will be on the frontline, directly interacting with guests to enhance their experience through friendly, knowledgeable service and a genuine enthusiasm for the brewery's offerings. Your role will encompass everything from greeting guests, educating them about various beers, managing sales transactions using a Point-of-Sale system, to enforcing taproom policies responsibly.
This role demands a proactive and adaptable individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment and is willing to contribute beyond typical serving duties. Responsibilities include assisting with taproom setup and cleanup, maintaining spotless areas, and ensuring compliance with applicable alcohol laws and health regulations. The ability to work a flexible schedule is essential, as shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Backswing Brewing values team members who bring a positive attitude, a readiness to step in where needed, whether bussing tables, washing glassware, or bartending, and who embody the spirit of hospitality that defines the establishment.
Candidates must hold current RBST and Food Handlers Certifications before their first shift, underlining the brewery's commitment to safety and quality standards. Job Duties
- contributing to the overall guest experience from entering the taproom till leaving
- serving guests beer as well as selling brewery/taproom merchandise and preparing and selling packaged beer
- using a point-of-sale system (Arryved) to ring up transactions as well as managing open tabs
- politely but firmly enforcing taproom rules and regulations
- ensuring that taproom is thoroughly cleaned and prepped before and after each shift
- working closely with General Manager/Ownership and helping wherever needed
- working when the taproom is open to the public and during private events
- promoting the taproom and working to increase the experience and number of people attending over time
- understanding and abiding by federal, state, local, CDC and Public Health regulations
