Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred
  • completion of bartender's school or course preferred
  • minimum of one year of bartending experience preferred
  • must complete and maintain up-to-date alcohol serving class such as TIPS or other state-approved classes
  • must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time
  • must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • ability to write simple correspondence
  • ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups
  • ability to interpret and perform basic math functions
  • ability to interpret and perform basic computer and POS system functions

Job Duties

  • Assist and approach all guests in a sincere, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • learn guest's name and use them to address them
  • perform cashier duties following company and franchise standards
  • thoroughly and correctly set up the bar prior to opening and clean before and after shifts
  • complete necessary side-work including stocking and organizing supplies
  • be knowledgeable about all menu items, beverages, and preparation methods
  • utilize suggestive selling techniques to increase check averages
  • complete and maintain up-to-date alcohol serving classes
  • adhere to all local and national liquor laws
  • check guest order prior to serving to ensure quality
  • assist in maintaining beverage cost by reducing waste
  • take and know inventory and requisition supplies daily
  • accurately take orders and complete guest checks in POS system
  • follow prescribed liquor serving procedures
  • be knowledgeable about computer system to handle transactions
  • pre-bus and bus tables
  • attend meetings and training as required
  • maintain legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • maintain regular attendance and punctuality
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • perform other duties as assigned
