The Memphian is currently seeking a skilled and passionate bartender to join its dedicated team. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a genuine enthusiasm for delivering excellent guest experiences through the art of bartending. The bartender will be responsible for crafting signature cocktails, expertly recommending a variety of local craft beers and wines, and maintaining a hospitable and inviting bar atmosphere. This position requires a mix of strong technical skills including cocktail preparation and inventory management, combined with outstanding customer service and communication abilities.

In this role, the bartender will not only prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages but also engage with guests to understand their preferences, suggest drinks, and ensure that every patron feels welcomed and valued. The bartender’s responsibilities will extend beyond drink preparation to include restocking the bar, managing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards required by health and safety regulations. The position demands a thorough knowledge of classic cocktails and the ability to perform efficiently behind the bar during busy periods. Candidates must be adept at handling cash transactions, operating POS systems, and following all legal requirements related to age verification and alcohol service.

The Memphian emphasizes a guest-centered approach where bartenders are encouraged to build rapport with clients, create memorable experiences, and uphold the highest standards of service. The ideal candidate will have previous bartending experience, certified food safety training, and familiarity with popular POS and reservation software such as Toast, Micros, and Aloha. Flexibility is essential, as working hours may include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The position challenges individuals to demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Physical stamina is important given the demands of prolonged standing, lifting, and coordination required to maintain a high level of efficiency and safety behind the bar. The work environment may involve exposure to varying temperatures and conditions typical of a fast-paced hospitality setting. The Memphian’s commitment to a supportive and inclusive workplace allows for reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Overall, this bartending position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a respected establishment known for its hospitality excellence, cultural richness, and community engagement.Show Less
