The Memphian is currently seeking a skilled and passionate bartender to join its dedicated team. This role is designed for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a genuine enthusiasm for delivering excellent guest experiences through the art of bartending. The bartender will be responsible for crafting signature cocktails, expertly recommending a variety of local craft beers and wines, and maintaining a hospitable and inviting bar atmosphere. In this role, the bartender will not only prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages but also engage with guests to understand their preferences, suggest drinks, and ensure that every patron feels welcomed and valued. The bartender’s responsibilities will extend beyond drink preparation to include restocking the bar, managing supplies, and maintaining cleanliness standards required by health and safety regulations. Job Requirements
- One year of prior bartending experience preferred
- prior guest relations training
- proper food safety training and certification as described by law
- experience working with POS (Toast, Micros, Aloha, etc.) and reservation software (Toast)
- strong knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- knowledge of proper food handling
- excellent written/verbal communications skills
- positive upbeat attitude/personality
- punctuality and reliable attendance
- ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and other team members
- ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with minimum supervision

Job Duties
- Prepare alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant patrons
- interact with customers, take orders and serve snacks and drinks
- assess customers needs and preferences and make recommendations

- check customers identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
