The Bartender role at Life Time is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about serving guests in a dynamic, health-conscious environment. This position requires adherence to alcohol serving laws, and bartenders are responsible for preparing both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages while maintaining an inviting atmosphere. A critical part of the role involves interacting directly with customers, taking food orders when necessary, and ensuring timely service that exceeds expectations. Bartenders at Life Time also play a vital part in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards at the bar area, guaranteeing a safe and pleasant environment for all patrons. Compensation for this hourly position starts at $18.00 and can go up to $21.25 depending on experience and qualifications.
In this role, bartenders strictly follow recipes to create cocktails and drinks, ensuring consistent quality and presentation, including garnishing. They are responsible for verifying legal drinking age by checking customer identification and managing cash transactions accurately, including reconciling the bar’s cash register at the end of shifts. Inventory maintenance is another significant duty, requiring bartenders to restock liquors, wines, beers, and non-alcoholic ingredients, as well as replace beer barrels. Life Time expects its bartenders to be proactive in keeping the bar area pristine by cleaning surfaces, furniture, and equipment regularly and returning used dishware to appropriate locations.
This position demands physical endurance, as bartenders must be capable of bending and lifting more than 20 pounds routinely and able to stand or move around the café for prolonged periods. New hires are required to obtain CPR/AED certification within the first 30 days, and a certification to serve alcohol is mandatory at the outset. Experience with inventory control and ordering is preferred, enhancing the effectiveness of bar operations.
Life Time values its team members and offers an array of benefits including a fully subsidized membership, discounts on company products and services, and a 401(k) retirement plan with discretionary company matching for employees aged 21 and older. Full-time team members also gain access to comprehensive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance benefits, as well as flexible spending accounts, parental leave, paid time off, and more. Life Time’s commitment extends beyond wellness to fostering an inclusive, respectful workplace where diversity flourishes, making it an ideal employer for those seeking a rewarding career in hospitality within the health and wellness industry.
