Job Description

The Delta Breeze Event Center at Travis Air Force Base, California, is seeking to hire a skilled Bartender for a permanent, intermittent position. This opportunity is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) position, offering a flexible work schedule with no guaranteed hours but up to 40 hours per week possible. The role involves working in a dynamic event center environment within a military installation dedicated to supporting Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) activities for Air Force and Space Force personnel. Employees in this role will have access to various base facilities including the Base Exchange (BX), gym, outdoor recreational areas, library, marina, golf course, bowling center, and the arts and crafts center, making this an engaging and supportive workplace.

Travis Air Force Base is a critical hub of U.S. military operations and offers employees the unique experience of contributing to the well-being and leisure of service members and their families. The Delta Breeze Event Center is committed to excellence in customer service and creating memorable social experiences through events and hospitality services, including a full service bar.

The Bartender role is centered around operating the full service bar efficiently and professionally. This position requires the preparation and serving of a wide variety of alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages by following established recipes. Cash handling including receipt of payments and charges to member accounts is an essential part of the job. Employees must ensure all operational aspects of the bar are maintained properly, including inventory accountability and cash register operations. The role demands strong interpersonal skills as the successful bartender will interact regularly with the public and must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.

Physical demands of the position include frequent lifting of objects weighing between 5 to 15 pounds, pushing and pulling of weights from 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lifting weights exceeding 40 pounds. Compliance with legal requirements for alcohol sale, including an age minimum of 21, is mandatory. The role requires passing a background check and a pre-employment physical examination to evaluate fitness for duty.

This position pays $24.47 to $25.49 per hour depending on pay setting policy and does not have promotional potential. While this job is not remote or eligible for telework, it offers a unique chance to work in a community-focused environment serving military personnel. Applicants from the general public, including U.S. citizens, nationals, and those who owe allegiance to the U.S., are encouraged to apply. Those interested must complete the online application, including submitting a resume and other required documentation by the application deadline. The Delta Breeze Event Center fosters a professional and inclusive atmosphere and provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
