The Bartender position at Ivy Hospitality plays a crucial role within the Food and Beverage department, reporting directly to the Food and Beverage Director. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred
  • minimum of one year of high-volume bar service experience required
  • strong knowledge of drink preparation and health standards
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to operate bar-related equipment including coffee makers and cash terminals
  • ability to work in varying temperatures and environments from freezers to kitchens
  • capacity to stand and move for extended periods lift up to 75 lbs and maneuver in confined spaces
  • flexibility to work varying schedules based on hotel business needs including attending all required training sessions and meetings

Job Duties

  • Expertly prepare and serve beverages for guests and servers in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner
  • follow precise recipes using established measuring systems for consistent drink quality
  • ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the service of alcohol, particularly with respect to minors and intoxicated patrons
  • act as the cashier for servers when necessary, and handle transactions with accuracy and integrity
  • prepare garnishes, set up the bar, and maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
  • restock bar supplies and anticipate replenishment needs
  • perform opening and closing inventories of spirits, and secure all alcohol and financial transactions at the end of each shift
