The company values its employees and fosters an inclusive and supportive work environment where growth and development are encouraged. HHM Hotels operates across multiple locations and provides ample opportunities for career progression in the food and beverage sector and beyond.
The company is currently seeking a dedicated and personable Bartender to join its vibrant team. This role involves serving beverages and/or food in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction at all times. The Bartender position is vital to creating a welcoming atmosphere in the bar and lounge areas, contributing to the overall guest experience. Longevity in this role can lead to career advancement opportunities such as Beverage Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and ultimately Food & Beverage Manager, showcasing HHM Hotels' commitment to internal growth and employee development.
As a Bartender at HHM Hotels, you will be responsible for maintaining clean and organized bar areas, preparing garnishes by slicing and pitting fruit, and checking the identification of customers to verify age requirements for alcohol purchases. You will prepare and serve drink and food orders with accuracy and efficiency, take orders from and serve guests seated at tables if applicable, and manage the payment process by issuing guest checks. The role also requires you to follow strict standards for managing intoxicated guests to ensure comfort and safety for all patrons.
In addition to guest service, you will assist in completing beverage requisitions to maintain inventory par levels and take part in beverage inventory exercises. Prior to the end of your shift, completing required side work is essential to maintain operational standards. The role emphasizes the importance of guest satisfaction scores as a vital metric, encouraging you to work toward improving the overall experience provided by the department and the hotel as a whole.
HHM Hotels actively promotes sustainability through its EarthView program, and as a Bartender, you are expected to follow these sustainability guidelines and practices. Safety is a top priority; therefore, practicing safe work habits by wearing protective safety equipment and adhering to MSDS and OSHA standards is mandatory. You will also perform other duties as assigned by the management to support smooth operations.
This full-time role provides competitive wages, medical, dental, and vision health insurance, paid time off, a 401k company match, daily pay options, and free basic life insurance. Employees have 24/7 access to TELUS Health, a confidential work-life resource, and can enjoy travel discounts, commuter transit and parking benefits, employee assistance and wellness programs, educational and professional development opportunities, as well as a referral bonus program. Work schedules may vary and include holidays, weekends, and different shifts. Physical demands include standing for long periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching. HHM Hotels prides itself as an equal-opportunity employer and upholds principles of diversity and inclusion in all its hiring practices.
