Job Description
Westin is a renowned hotel brand under Marriott International, committed to empowering guests to achieve their best self and enhancing their wellbeing during travel. Recognized for its wellness-focused initiatives, Westin integrates unique programs aimed at fostering physical and mental health, making it a distinguished leader in the hospitality industry. The hotel is located at 1900 5th Ave, Seattle, Washington, United States, and offers a vibrant work environment characterized by a diverse and inclusive workforce. At Westin Seattle, employees are supported through various benefits and opportunities for personal and professional growth within a global hospitality family that values teamwork, motivation, and continuous learning.
This full-time, non-management position is for a skilled bartender who embodies passion and expertise in crafting innovative cocktails and delivering authentic guest experiences. The role pays $21.30 per hour with tip eligibility, reflecting the importance of service excellence and guest satisfaction. As a bartender at Westin, you will be the face of the beverage service, creating an inviting and energetic atmosphere behind the bar. You will have the opportunity to engage guests with a diverse menu inspired by seasonal ingredients, offering knowledgeable recommendations and establishing a warm rapport that encourages relaxation and repeated visits.
The position involves welcoming guests, attending tables, opening and serving wines or champagne, preparing decorations, maintaining the bar area, managing supplies, and processing payments with accuracy. The bartender is expected to maintain a professional appearance, comply with safety and hygiene standards, and work efficiently while standing or moving for extended periods. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy storytelling, possess a positive attitude and outgoing personality, and have at least one year of related experience. Although supervisory experience is not required, a readiness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment is essential.
Westin provides comprehensive support including hotel room discounts, gift shop, food and beverage discounts, learning and development programs, recognition initiatives, wellness programs, and motivational management. Employees also benefit from a 401(k) plan, stock purchase options, travel perks, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. Medical, dental, vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption reimbursements, paid parental leave, and educational assistance are extended to full-time staff. Additionally, employees in Washington accumulate paid sick leave, PTO, and receive paid holidays.
The hotel encourages diversity, equal opportunity, and an inclusive culture that celebrates a mosaic of backgrounds and experiences. Westin values employees who maintain their personal wellness and embrace an optimistic and adventurous spirit. By joining Westin Seattle as a bartender, you will not only enhance your mixology skills but also become part of an incredible global team where your passion and dedication transform into career growth and personal fulfillment. This role offers an enriching journey where every guest interaction is a chance to make a positive impact and create memorable experiences, aligning your professional aspirations with the brand's mission to be the leader in wellness hospitality.
