The role of the Bartender at The Pacific Catch is integral to maintaining the high standards of hospitality that the company is known for. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a flexible schedule that requires weekend availability. Bartenders are responsible for creating an inviting and engaging experience by serving guests with top-notch service and expert knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine. The compensation for this role is set at $17.81 per hour.

In this position, the Bartender’s duties extend beyond merely preparing beverages. They play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the bar and occasionally fill in as servers when needed, demonstrating a flexible and team-oriented approach. Attention to detail is crucial, from accurately recording orders immediately into the POS system to maintaining a clean and organized bar area that supports efficient drink preparation and highlights beverage promotion. Maintaining a good guest experience involves presenting the drink menu with confidence, making thoughtful recommendations, answering questions about food and drinks, and upselling when appropriate. Physical stamina is also required, as the role demands standing and moving steadily for extended periods, along with the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. This position is well-suited to individuals who have at least one year of experience in the restaurant or customer service industry and who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • knowledge of cocktails, beer, and wine including recipes, history, base ingredients, and jiggers
  • ensure a good guest experience by presenting drink menu, making recommendations, answering questions about food and beverages
  • take orders and promptly serve food and drinks
  • up-sell whenever possible
  • record orders accurately and immediately into POS
  • accept and process guest payment and make correct change
  • fill in as server as directed
  • maintain inventory and bar supplies
  • assist in restocking
  • ensure cleanliness of bar area
  • maintain bottles and glasses attractively and functionally
  • wash and sterilize glassware
  • high school education
  • minimum 1-year experience in restaurant or customer service industry preferred
  • physical ability to stand and move steadily for up to 5 hours
  • ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 35 pounds
