As a key member of the Front of House team, the Bartender at Mare Island Brewing Co. plays an integral role in shaping the guest experience. This part-time role offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $32.00 to $40.00 per hour, paid in addition to pooled tips. The bartender is the face of the brewery, responsible for direct guest engagement, guiding customers through the extensive beer and food menu, and ensuring that every order is fulfilled with precision and care. In this role, bartenders cultivate a positive, inviting atmosphere by warmly greeting guests and providing knowledgeable recommendations about the brewery's diverse selection of beers, wines, and menu items. Utilizing the POS system, Toast, they take and process orders efficiently and accurately. Bartenders are expected to serve beverages according to company standards, manage bar upkeep, and work collaboratively with kitchen staff and management to create a seamless service flow. The role also requires physical stamina, including lifting kegs and managing setting up or breaking down equipment for special or private events. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to teamwork are essential attributes for success in this position. Job Requirements

Must be 21 years of age or older
must possess or obtain within 60 days a California Responsible Beverage Service RBS Certification
must possess or obtain within 30 days a California Food Handler Card
ability to stand and or walk for extended periods of time and lift up to 30lbs when needed other physical requirements include bending twisting lifting carrying etc
availability to work evenings weekends and holidays minimum three 3 days a week with one being a weekend availability
reliable transportation consistent attendance and a commitment to punctuality and preparedness for all scheduled shifts

Job Qualifications

Basic knowledge of beer and wine required craft beer knowledge is a plus
ability to work efficiently in a fast paced high volume hospitality environment
strong communication and interpersonal skills
ability to maintain a positive attitude while multitasking during busy service periods
strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and organization
ability to take direction while also showing initiative when opportunities arise

Job Duties

Greet guests warmly and create a welcoming positive atmosphere in the taproom
take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system Toast
pour and serve beer wine and other beverages according to company standards
present food and drinks to guests in a timely and professional manner
provide knowledgeable recommendations about beer wine and menu items
maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar dining areas service stations and beer garden
bus and reset tables and bar top to maintain a clean and inviting space for guests
monitor guest needs and provide attentive proactive service throughout their visit
assist with opening and closing duties including stocking cleaning and preparation for service
assist with daily weekly and as needed cleaning and side work task lists
replace and tap in kegs as needed using proper lifting techniques and equipment
follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines and company policies
work collaboratively with kitchen staff peer staff shift leads and managers to ensure smooth service
help maintain a safe clean and professional environment for both guests and team members
support additional tasks as needed to ensure the overall success of the taproom
work special and or private events as they are scheduled this may include setting up breaking down and or moving round banquet tables chairs beer benches picnic benches food buffets tents kegs and jockey boxes etc as needed
