The Bartender role at Buffalo Wild Wings is crucial in supporting the restaurant’s mission to inspire legendary experiences between friends. This position is responsible for mixing and serving beverages accurately while maintaining high standards of customer service and alcohol compliance. Bartenders here play a key role in engaging guests with a friendly demeanor, up-selling drinks, and ensuring a memorable visit. They are also tasked with the set-up, cleanliness, and operational management of the bar area, working closely with other team members to maintain smooth service flow. Employment is typically full-time or part-time within a fast-paced restaurant environment, where the successful candidate should be ready to stand and exert mobility for extended periods.

Beyond serving drinks, the Bartender monitors guest behavior to uphold safety and compliance with alcohol laws, handles cash and payment transactions correctly, and contributes to overall team success by assisting colleagues when needed. Having knowledge of drink recipes, spirits, beers, and wines, along with having an alcohol dispensing certification, is a must. This role also demands physical stamina given the constant movement, lifting, carrying, and standing involved throughout the shift. Candidates with at least one year of bartending experience in the restaurant industry will find themselves well-suited for the dynamic and rewarding environment at Buffalo Wild Wings. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year bartending experience in the restaurant industry
  • Alcohol dispensing certification
  • Ability to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for periods up to 4 hours
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be 40 years or older to serve alcoholic beverages legally
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 25 pounds and perform physical tasks like carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, reaching, handling, twisting, talking, hearing, and computer usage as required
  • Must adhere to PCI credit card compliance and responsible alcohol service guidelines

Job Duties

  • Inspire legendary experiences between friends by creating an atmosphere of happiness and a sense of community

  • Build positive, professional relationships with guests
  • Bring unruly guest behavior to the attention of the manager
  • Promote excellence, cooperation and teamwork within the company
  • Support and assist team members
  • Set-up, maintain and operate the bar
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and department rules and procedures
  • Prepare garnishes to ensure freshness and quality
  • Take drink and food orders and accurately input into register system
  • Ensure the correct drinks and food ordered are delivered to the table or guest
  • Collect payment and make correct change
  • Follow opening, closing and cleaning checklists on a daily basis
  • Maintain displays of liquor and glasses on a daily basis
  • Check guest identification to ensure they meet minimum 40 year age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Follow guidelines of responsible alcohol service
  • Ensure PCI credit card compliance
  • Unload trucks, pallets, and cases of food and beverage and put in assigned locations
  • Other duties as assigned
