Job Description
Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi, located in Santa Fe, NM, is a distinguished boutique hotel renowned for its intimate world-class retreat atmosphere and deep celebration of the region's rich cultural heritage. This luxury establishment honors the creative spirit and traditions of the early Native Americans, specifically the Anasazi tribe, after whom the hotel is named. The interiors of the hotel vividly reflect this heritage through handcrafted textiles, paintings, carvings, and baskets, creating a unique and captivating blend of Native, Hispanic, and Anglo influences. Situated just steps away from Santa Fe's historic plaza and within driving distance of notable landmarks such as Canyon Road, Taos, and Bandelier National Park, Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi offers guests an immersive experience that beautifully combines luxury with the cultural essence of New Mexico.
This position is a full-time, permanent role within the Food and Beverage Services department, focusing on beverage service and bartending. The ideal candidate for this bartending role will be personable and outgoing, with a genuine passion for mixology and beverage service. This role plays a vital part in creating exceptional guest experiences, requiring dedication to craft, knowledge of spirits and beverage trends, and an eagerness to grow continuously within the mixology field. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the efficient and smooth operation of the bar, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality aligned with the hotel's guidelines, and contributing to the profitability of the bar through innovative drink preparation and excellent service. Flexibility will be essential, as this role demands working shifts across designated areas of the hotel and functioning effectively within a dynamic and multi-skilled Food and Beverage team.
The responsibilities of this bartending role include possessing thorough knowledge of product recipes, ensuring proper service procedures, overseeing all bar stock and requisitions, and handling all aspects of money collection and proper cash deposit at shift end. Key duties also encompass setting up and closing the bar, restocking used items, and maintaining cleanliness while promptly reporting maintenance needs. The candidate must be well-versed in New Mexico Alcohol and Beverage Control Division regulations, monitoring guest consumption, and responsibly handling intoxicated guests. Upholding all hotel policies, procedures, and standards is critical, as is ensuring an excellent guest relation experience by learning guest names and drink preferences. Attendance at all scheduled meetings is expected.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years of bartending experience in high-volume operations, sharp attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently with minimal supervision is vital. Candidates should be team players with clear communication skills, cash handling proficiency, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds. Required certifications include food handler and alcohol server certifications, or the willingness to obtain them as per company policy. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills considered a plus. This job demands the endurance of various physical activities, including reaching, lifting, and standing for extended periods, all while maintaining excellent communication with guests and colleagues. Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi reserves the right to modify or update job duties as business needs dictate, ensuring the role remains aligned with operational and guest service standards.
