The Falcon Club at the Air Force Academy in Colorado is seeking a qualified individual for a non-appropriated fund (NAF) position, which plays an integral role within this prestigious military community. The Falcon Club serves as a social and recreational venue for Air Force Academy personnel, their families, and authorized guests, providing a welcoming environment where members can relax and enjoy exceptional amenities. This non-appropriated fund position involves responsibilities that support the operational needs of the club. It is important to note that this specific role does not include traditional employment benefits. The role primarily involves beverage service with an emphasis on mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale, requiring comprehensive knowledge of various types of drinks and the skills to mix and serve exotic beverages skillfully. The position demands high attention to detail, as well as the ability to recognize and manage intoxicated or unruly patrons responsibly and professionally. As part of the Falcon Club’s team, the individual will adhere to cash handling procedures, maintain excellent customer service standards, and ensure compliance with regulations regarding the serving of alcoholic beverages, including meeting the minimum legal age requirements.
This job also requires physical stamina, with the need to frequently lift and move objects of varying weights and to perform duties that may entail uncommon tour of duty shifts. The successful candidate must hold or be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and complete necessary training, emphasizing the club’s commitment to food safety and hygiene. Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with the public in a courteous and helpful manner are essential for this role. Job Requirements
- Must have experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale
- Must be able to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve issues or seek help
- Must follow cash handling procedures
- Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 15 pounds and occasionally over 40 pounds
- Must meet minimum age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
- Must be able to obtain Food Handler's Certificate and complete training
- Must communicate clearly and deal with the public effectively
- Subject to National Agency Check with Inquiries
- Available for uncommon tour of duty
Job Qualifications
- Experience mixing alcoholic beverages including knowledge of a wide variety of drinks and the ability to mix exotic cocktails
- Ability to recognize and appropriately handle intoxicated or unruly patrons
- Ability to follow cash handling procedures accurately
- Physical capability to lift and move objects weighing between 5 and over 40 pounds
- Ability to obtain Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete required food handler training
