Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Flexible schedule with availability for long hours sometimes
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull objects
- Ability to stand for the entire shift
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented attitude
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Attendance at all required hotel meetings and trainings
- Regular attendance in compliance with hotel standards
- Maintain proper personal appearance and grooming, including uniform and nametag
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations
- Identify and assist in solving operational problems
- Ability to understand and apply complex information
- Willingness to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs
- Willingness to perform additional duties as requested
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle problems proactively and effectively
- Familiarity with safety rules and hotel regulations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas
Job Duties
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure guests are served promptly and efficiently
- Prepare beverages and cocktails according to the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards
- Serve guests with all beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner
- Break down the bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies, and equipment as per hotel standards
- Follow all state liquor laws
- Know hotel services and facilities
- Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
- Follow procedures in serving liquor responsibly to avoid issues with intoxicated guests
- Respond to guests’ problems, complaints, and accidents
- Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher locations and how to operate them
- Keep the bar and service areas clean and tidy during service
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
