This role demands a thorough understanding of alcoholic beverages, including the knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, glassware, garnishes, and drink recipes. In addition to technical skills, the role emphasizes compliance with all applicable laws regarding alcohol service, which includes avoiding service to underage or intoxicated patrons. Maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, and setting up or breaking down the bar area are additional essential responsibilities. Applicants must be at least 21 years old to meet the State of California’s legal requirements for alcohol service. Previous experience working in a high-volume restaurant or bar setting is essential, with a preference for at least two years of experience. Certifications such as Food Handlers Card and ABC Service Certification are mandatory, while CPR and First Aid training are preferred but not required. The work environment can be fast-moving and physically demanding, including the need to work around high temperatures and confined spaces, as well as lift weights of up to 25 lbs.
