Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role
  • knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation
  • familiarity with state alcohol laws and safety regulations
  • strong interpersonal skills
  • basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • problem-solving skills
  • reliable and punctual work ethic
  • ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Collect payments for drinks/meals served
  • check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • balance cash receipts
  • attempt to limit problem and liability related to customer's excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering transportation for intoxicated patrons
  • clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
  • mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons
  • serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar
  • arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
  • order or requisition liquors and supplies
  • answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services
  • give entertainment suggestions and travel directions
  • welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner
  • check the working condition of equipment and report to supervisor all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment
  • know all safety and emergency procedures
  • communicate with the previous and following shift
  • ensure compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirements
  • proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment
  • ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner
  • report all safety concerns to management
  • attend and participate in all mandatory trainings and meetings
  • flexible with schedule and assignments
  • maintain effective performance under pressure
  • may perform other similar duties as requested by supervisor
