Job Qualifications

Experience as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role
knowledge of mixology and beverage preparation
familiarity with state alcohol laws and safety regulations
strong interpersonal skills
basic math skills for handling cash transactions
ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
problem-solving skills
reliable and punctual work ethic
ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

Collect payments for drinks/meals served
check identification of customers in order to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
balance cash receipts
attempt to limit problem and liability related to customer's excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering transportation for intoxicated patrons
clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons
mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons
serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar
arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive displays
order or requisition liquors and supplies
answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services
give entertainment suggestions and travel directions
welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner
check the working condition of equipment and report to supervisor all unsafe or malfunctioning equipment
know all safety and emergency procedures
communicate with the previous and following shift
ensure compliance with energy conservation and job safety requirements
proactively maintain assigned areas and equipment
ensure efficient completion of daily assignments in a timely manner
report all safety concerns to management
attend and participate in all mandatory trainings and meetings
flexible with schedule and assignments
maintain effective performance under pressure
may perform other similar duties as requested by supervisor
