The role of Bartender at CRAVE is essential to upholding the restaurant's mission to do whatever it takes to make every guest happy and its vision to be the leading purveyor of the spirit of hospitality. Bartenders are frontline ambassadors to guests, responsible for providing prompt, courteous, and engaging beverage service. They take orders both directly from guests and through serving staff, ensuring that every drink is prepared to perfection according to standard recipes and customer preferences. A critical aspect of the position involves verifying the age of guests to comply with alcohol service laws, thereby promoting a safe and responsible environment. Bartenders at CRAVE must be attentive and proactive, anticipating guest needs before being asked and maintaining an atmosphere conducive to positive guest experiences.

In addition to serving drinks such as cocktails, wine, and beer, bartenders prepare special bar ingredients like simple syrups and garnish stock. They are responsible for cleanliness and organization behind the bar, including washing utensils and glassware, and managing inventory and supplies. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Ability to check identification to verify legal drinking age
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including late nights and weekends
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Basic cash handling skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Job Duties

  • Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from guests
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times
  • Make guests feel appreciated through your actions
  • Count drinks guests are served
  • Be attentive! Offer your assistance before guests have to ask for it
  • Work as a team with all personnel in order to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
  • Collect payment for drinks served
  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer
  • Limit problems and liability related to guests' excessive drinking by taking steps such as persuading guests to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated guests
  • Prep bar ingredients made in house (e.g. simple syrups, sweet and sour)
  • prep and stock all garnishes
  • Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment/ restock glassware from the dishwasher
  • Remove recycling full of empty bottles
  • Clean bars, work areas and tables
  • Balance cash drawer when shift is completed
  • Other duties as directed
