The Bartender position at HHM Hotels is central to delivering an outstanding guest experience in bar and lounge areas. This role involves preparing and serving beverages and food in a courteous, timely, and professional manner, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction. Bartenders are responsible for maintaining clean and organized bar areas, slicing and pitting fruit for garnishes, and verifying age requirements for alcohol purchase by checking customer identification. In addition to drink preparation, bartenders may take food and beverage orders and clear tables, enhancing the overall dining experience.
This role requires attention to detail, particularly regarding managing intoxicated guests responsibly and maintaining beverage inventory levels. Safety and sustainability are priorities within this role. Employees follow HHM’s EarthView sustainability program guidelines to promote eco-friendly practices. Safety protocols, including wearing protective equipment and adhering to OSHA and MSDS standards, are also part of the job. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching, which require good physical fitness.
A career path is clearly laid out for the bartender position, offering advancement opportunities from Beverage Manager to Restaurant Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, and eventually Food & Beverage Manager.
