We are currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Bartenders to join our team. This role is pivotal for maintaining the flow of excellent service behind the bar while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in bartending, including the ability to mix and serve a variety of beverages accurately and efficiently. Responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, taking and preparing orders promptly, and handling special requests or food allergies with sensitivity and care. Bartenders at Providence Oyster Bar must possess knowledge of beverage recipes as well as the dining menu to create a harmonious experience for guests. In addition to crafting cocktails and serving drinks, the role involves maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar area, adhering to company policies regarding the responsible service of alcohol, and upholding safety standards. Certification such as Tips and/or ServSafe Alcohol is required to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations. Applicants must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol in Rhode Island, which is 18 years or older. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age to serve alcohol in Rhode Island
  • Possess a valid Tips and/or ServSafe Alcohol certification
  • Previous experience as a bartender in a busy restaurant or bar
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks related to bartending
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Comply with all company policies and Rhode Island alcohol service regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working as a bartender in a high-volume setting
  • Knowledge of beverage recipes and mixing techniques
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Certification in Tips and/or ServSafe Alcohol
  • Ability to communicate clearly with team members and customers
  • Familiarity with local alcohol service laws and regulations

Job Duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Ensure customer orders are taken, prepared and served in a timely manner
  • Be aware of special requests and food allergies
  • Ensure necessary information is communicated to the Kitchen team
  • Be knowledgeable about mixing, garnishing, and serving beverages
  • Keep the bar area clean, organized, and stocked
  • Be knowledgeable about beverage and dining menu items
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be Tips and/or ServSafe Alcohol certified
  • Uphold the company's policies and procedures including guidelines relating to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Ensure server/bartender is at least 18 years of age to serve alcohol in Rhode Island
