The role of a Bartender at Derby City Gaming Downtown is integral to maintaining the establishment's high standards of guest service and satisfaction. This position carries the responsibility of preparing a variety of drinks according to specific recipes and ensuring timely fulfillment of orders from cocktail servers. The Bartender supports the beverage team by managing inventory, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area, and adhering to health and safety regulations pertaining to alcohol service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- Minimum two years bartending experience preferred
- Ability to obtain valid Racing License
- Knowledge of bar equipment and beverage systems
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Capability to handle high pressure and high volume environment
- Black non-slip shoes required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience preferred
- Two or more years of bartending experience preferred
- Ability to obtain a valid Racing License
- Knowledge of bar equipment and beverage systems
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours and handle high pressure, high volume demands
Job Duties
- Prepare drinks according to Derby City Gaming Downtown recipes and specifications
- Fulfill cocktail servers’ orders in a timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area
- Assist with inventory control, stocking, and proper rotation of product
- Prepare and sell all drinks on the menu and handle transactions in accordance with cash handling policy
- Set up and breakdown of bar area including side work and projects as necessary
- Perform responsible alcohol service and ensure safety and security of team members and guests
