The Bartender position is crucial to our beverage service department, serving as the face of the bar area and directly interacting with our guests. This role requires the ability to craft high-quality cocktails and drinks in accordance with our restaurant's recipes and specifications while ensuring responsible alcohol service. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent customer service skills, work effectively as part of a team, and maintain an upbeat and professional demeanor during all interactions. Attention to detail is essential for measuring ingredients accurately, checking identification, managing the bar inventory, and performing all tasks related to cleanliness and organization within the bar area.

The Bartender will be responsible for a variety of duties including mixing ingredients for cocktails, pouring beverages such as wine, liquor, and beer with precision, and verifying the age of guests before serving alcohol. They will also handle cash transactions, use the MICROS system for ringing orders, and follow established protocols for service steps. Maintaining cleanliness of the bar, washing glassware and utensils, and restocking supplies are key aspects of this role. Additionally, the Bartender must complete all training provided by management, uphold performance standards through positive role modeling, and maintain valid alcohol compliance certification as required by state law.

This position demands physical stamina, as it involves standing for the entire shift, occasional lifting of heavy items, and exposure to varying environmental conditions such as heat and cold. The Bartender must adhere to the management's uniform policy, demonstrate control and responsibility in alcohol service, and be ready to perform additional duties as assigned by management. Job Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 100% of the shift
  • Adherence to management uniform policy
  • Ability to report to work as scheduled
  • Total control over alcohol-related sales and incidents
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and wiping
  • Frequent immersion of hands in water
  • Willingness to follow all safety and hygiene procedures
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
  • Must complete required training and certifications

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of mixology and cocktail recipes
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions
  • Familiarity with MICROS or similar POS systems beneficial
  • Certification in alcohol compliance as required by state law
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Job Duties

  • Mix all ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to restaurant recipes and specifications
  • Accurately pour wine, liquor, and beer following proper pour amounts
  • Check identification of any person looking to purchase alcohol
  • Produce beverages for both guests and tickets printed on service bar
  • Maintain a clean work area including the bar, bar top, cocktail area, beer coolers, liquor room, etc.
  • Wash all glassware and bar utensils after each use
  • Serve all bar patrons with an upbeat attitude while following the steps of service
  • Properly and accurately ring each item made or requested in MICROS and perform proper cash handling techniques
  • Possess extensive knowledge of all food and drinks served
  • Appear and act in a professional manner
  • Serve responsibly and take proper steps to deny service
  • Stock and restock bar as necessary
  • Perform all posted side work each shift, including daily, weekly, and monthly assigned cleaning duties
  • Complete all training put forth by management
  • Maintain performance standards and motivate team through positive role modeling
  • Maintain a valid and state accepted alcohol compliance certification
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested by a manager at any time
