Job Description

Out West Restaurant Group is the largest franchisee of Outback Steakhouse in the United States. Established as an Australian-themed restaurant since March 1988, Outback Steakhouse has gained widespread recognition for combining high-quality food with a casual and fun dining atmosphere. Out West Restaurant Group proudly operates numerous locations under this iconic brand, emphasizing exceptional service and a welcoming culture that nurtures and supports its employees, whom they affectionately call "Outbackers." The company prides itself on a culture of respect, camaraderie, and opportunity, promoting an environment where employees feel valued and motivated to deliver outstanding guest experiences. Notably, Out West Restaurant Group has received recognition for its excellence, including being ranked in the Top 50 franchisees across the U.S. for four consecutive years and receiving the International Franchise Association’s Franchisee of the Year Award in 2022 for exemplary local community service. The organization also actively supports nonprofit initiatives that provide essential assistance to restaurant employees and their families, particularly California Care and CORE.

Joining the team as a Bartender at Outback Steakhouse means becoming part of a fun and vibrant workplace where career growth and professional development are actively encouraged. This is an hourly, non-exempt position offering a competitive wage of $16.90 per hour plus tips. Bartenders at Outback Steakhouse serve as key ambassadors of the brand, responsible for creating memorable first and last impressions for guests. The role involves crafting drinks to perfection using proper safety measures, tools, and adherence to recipe standards, all while providing friendly and attentive service that meets or exceeds customer expectations. An in-depth knowledge of the food and drink menu is essential for making recommendations and driving sales through upselling. Teamwork is fundamental, as bartenders support other restaurant areas whenever needed, helping to create a seamless dining experience for every guest. Commitment to food safety, job cleanliness, and sanitation is required to maintain the high standards of the Outback brand.

The company fosters a hospitable culture that honors hard work, perseverance, and leadership, providing extensive on-the-job training and opportunities for advancement, including a Shift Leader program. Scheduling options are designed to accommodate team members' needs, ensuring excellent service while valuing employee work-life balance. Out West Restaurant Group also offers meaningful benefits such as comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) for eligible employees, paid sick leave in accordance with California laws, a company-sponsored Employee Assistance Program, and meal discounts. The restaurant is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas to allow employees to spend time with loved ones.

For those serious about a career in hospitality, becoming an Outbacker provides not only a joyful work environment but also solid foundations for future advancement. From entry-level roles to leadership positions, employees find abundant growth potential. The company is devoted to equitable employment practices and complies fully with California state labor laws, including equal pay, wage regulations, and mandatory certifications. Out West Restaurant Group is an equal opportunity employer that nurtures fairness, respect, and opportunity in its workforce. This position represents an excellent pathway to build skills in a well-respected and caring hospitality brand that values every member of its team.
