The Bartender role is integral to our operation as it combines the art of mixology with customer service excellence. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of drink recipes, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and an ability to prepare these drinks efficiently while maintaining quality. Beyond beverage preparation, the bartender also plays a key role in guest interaction by taking food orders, suggesting menu items and drink pairings, and ensuring that all orders are correct and delivered promptly. The role demands a friendly and professional demeanor to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat patronage.

As a bartender at our establishment, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar area, managing inventory to ensure adequate stock of supplies, and working closely with kitchen and serving staff to provide seamless service. This includes adhering strictly to alcohol serving laws and regulations, especially with respect to age verification, to ensure a safe and legal environment for our guests. You will be expected to process payments accurately, handle cash transactions, and operate point of sale systems efficiently.

Physical stamina is important as the position requires standing for extended periods and handling heavy items such as kegs and trays. Flexibility is also essential because the business operates during nights and weekends, requiring shifts that may fall outside of traditional business hours. Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting, a 'Beer Savvy' Beer Server Certification, and possibly other required licenses depending on local regulations, will set the stage for success in this role.

Job Duties

  • Mix, garnish, and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and customer preferences
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted
  • Deliver food orders to guests promptly, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met
  • Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional manner, making recommendations, and addressing any concerns
  • Monitor and manage inventory of bar supplies, restocking as necessary, and communicating low stock levels to management
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar and dining area, including washing glasses, cleaning tables, and sanitizing equipment
  • Accurately process payments, handle cash, and operate the point of sale (POS) system
  • Adhere to all local and state alcohol serving laws and regulations, including verifying the age of customers
  • Work closely with other staff members, including kitchen staff and other servers, to ensure seamless service
  • Assist in setting up and serving during special events or busy periods, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned
