Job Description

Aba is a distinguished Mediterranean restaurant with a California influence, located in the Wedgewood-Houston neighborhood and part of the Lettuce Entertain You hospitality group. With multiple locations across Austin, TX, Chicago, IL, and Nashville, TN, Aba offers an innovative dining experience crafted by Top Chef Alum and Chef Partner CJ Jacobson. The restaurant focuses on a modern approach to Mediterranean cuisine, showcasing exciting flavors and dishes inspired by the region's rich culinary heritage. Aba's beverage program enhances the guest experience by featuring a curated selection of spirits and rare wines from lesser-known Mediterranean regions, ensuring a unique and vibrant offering for patrons. Aba prides itself on delivering excellent food and exceptional service in a welcoming, creative atmosphere that reflects the best of California and Mediterranean influences.

The role of Bartender at Aba is both dynamic and rewarding, designed for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced and guest-focused environment. The position offers full-time and part-time opportunities covering both weekend brunch and daily dinner shifts, beginning with the launch of weekend brunch service starting April 11th. This role demands a high level of customer service, the ability to multitask efficiently, and a warm, accommodating demeanor. Bartenders at Aba are responsible for crafting beverages to precise recipes, serving food in the bar area, and supporting other front-of-house functions such as busser, food runner, and barista duties as needed to create a seamless guest experience.

Bartenders at Aba must be adept at managing a full bar, including restocking supplies, handling financial transactions like cash drawer reconciliation, and ensuring stock security and inventory control. Physical stamina is necessary, as the role involves standing throughout shifts, navigating through varying noise levels and temperatures, lifting and moving weighted items regularly, and working in a confined space with other team members. Bartenders play a key role in the restaurant's safety and guest satisfaction protocols by recognizing and responsibly managing intoxicated guests and adhering strictly to alcohol awareness and sanitation guidelines.

Joining Aba means being part of the Lettuce Entertain You family—an organization nationally recognized for supporting its team members with comprehensive career-training programs, competitive benefits, and growth opportunities in a people-first culture. The company is committed to mental health and wellness, offering an Employee Assistance Program and a range of insurance benefits. Paid vacation is also provided to qualifying employees, along with participation in a 401(k) retirement plan. The work environment encourages teamwork, mutual respect, and professionalism, making Aba not just a workplace, but a community dedicated to excellence in hospitality and employee well-being.
