Job Description

The Bartender position at Red Lobster plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and enhancing the overall dining experience for guests. As a bartender, you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the bar area, responsible for greeting guests cheerfully and maintaining a friendly demeanor throughout their visit. You will prepare and serve beverages by following specific recipes to ensure every drink meets company standards, providing consistency and quality in every order. In addition to drink preparation, you will be tasked with setting up the bar before service begins, including organizing glassware, pour stations, and garnishes to ensure efficient workflow.

The role requires suggestive selling skills to encourage guests to try featured drinks, appetizers, and desserts, thereby enhancing their dining experience and contributing to the restaurant's sales goals. Efficient order taking and accuracy in entering orders into the POS system are critical responsibilities to avoid delays and errors. Continuous guest engagement is important; checking back to offer refills, clearing tables promptly, and ensuring guests are satisfied throughout their visit. Wrapping up the guest's experience by presenting and settling the check while expressing appreciation encourages repeat visits.

This position involves significant physical demands, including the ability to stand for long shifts, bend, reach, and safely lift up to 30 pounds. Job Requirements

  • Must meet the minimum age requirement and authorized to work in the country you are applying
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds safely
  • Ability to remain standing for an 8 - 12 hour shift
  • Team player with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Willingness to follow food safety and workplace safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous bartending or customer service experience is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Basic knowledge of drink recipes and mixing techniques
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work area

Job Duties

  • Welcoming guests and greeting every guest with a smile when they are seated
  • Setting up the bar, including pour and glassware stations prior to opening, and limited restocking beverages, mixes, garnishes as needed
  • Suggestively selling drinks, appetizers, and desserts
  • Making all drinks to standard, using the recipe, glassware, and garnish
  • Accurately taking food and drink orders and entering orders into the POS properly
  • Checking back with guests throughout the experience to provide refills as needed and clearing any items from the table
  • Delivering and settling the check in a timely manner, thanking guests and inviting them to return
  • Following all food safety standards
