The Bartender position at Onyx Lounge, part of the Four Seasons Scottsdale, offers a dynamic and creative environment where passion for mixology, wine, and spirits can truly flourish. Onyx Lounge, adjacent to Talavera and recognized as Phoenix’s #1 Sunset Spot, is celebrated for its shareable plates, unique cocktails, and a glass-enclosed patio boasting breathtaking views of the Valley and desert. As a Bartender at Onyx Lounge, you will craft cocktails and serve a variety of wines and spirits, ensuring that every drink meets the high standards set by Four Seasons. You will build meaningful rapport with guests, offering them an engaging experience by providing vivid descriptions about the origins, tastes, and preparation of drinks. Your expertise and creativity will contribute to innovative cocktail development, enhancing the overall menu and guest satisfaction.
The role requires someone with 2 to 3 years of bartending or serving experience, preferably in upscale establishments with strong knowledge of wines, beers, and spirits. Experience within a hotel or resort environment is highly desirable. Candidates must be able to maintain professionalism while standing for extended periods and communicating effectively with guests. A positive, energetic, and service-oriented attitude is essential, along with possessing a valid Maricopa County Food Handlers Card.
Full-time schedule expectations include working Monday through Thursday from 5 pm to 10 pm, and Friday through Sunday from 1 pm to 11 pm, with flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Job Duties
- Prepare and serve a selection of wines, spirits, and mixed drinks from the menu while ensuring proper pouring, mixing, and blending according to established recipes and Four Seasons standards
- Build rapport with guests by delivering enthusiastic, above-and-beyond service
- Confirm guest orders including any special needs or requests from the lounge server using the hotel’s point-of-sales system
- Check completed orders with the guest’s original order to ensure accuracy and satisfaction
- Serve and take orders from guests seated at the bar area, offering interesting and vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, and preparation methods
- Maintain a working knowledge of liquors, wines, beers, ports, armagnacs, eau de vies, cognacs, and specialty drinks
- Demonstrate passion for craft cocktails and contribute creative ideas for cocktail development and menu innovation when opportunities arise
