We are currently seeking skilled and personable bartenders to join our distinguished hospitality team. This role is pivotal to the customer service experience, as the bartender will serve as the focal point for the bar operation, delivering timely and expert beverage service in line with Colony Grill's unique approach—"Every Guest is Our Only Guest." Responsibilities include coordinating the operation of the lounge and bar, taking and efficiently processing orders using the Colony Grill POS system, and maintaining clear communication with both front- and back-of-the-house teams to ensure a seamless dining experience. The bartender must be knowledgeable about all menu items and able to provide recommendations and detailed information upon request. Adherence to state liquor laws and responsible alcohol service forms the core of the service quality and safety standards upheld by Colony Grill. This role demands a professional attitude, excellent communication skills, and the physical stamina to perform tasks such as standing and lifting throughout shifts that can last up to 10 hours. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to deal with multiple tasks effectively and prioritize
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, climb stairs, and carry objects up to 30 lbs
- Ability to maintain a steady service pace for shifts up to 10 hours
- Ability to be 100% accurate in order entry and transactions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in POS systems or ability to learn quickly
- Knowledge of state liquor laws and responsible service
- Ability to handle cash and maintain transaction accuracy
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain professional and friendly demeanor
Job Duties
- Ensure proper set-up of lounge and bar from beginning to end of shift
- Maintain knowledge of all food and beverage items served
- Inform customers about menu items, preparation, portion sizes, and prices
- Make recommendations and suggest menu items as appropriate
- Navigate and execute orders through Colony Grill POS system accurately
- Promptly enter all orders and ensure updated tabs are placed before guests
- Confirm daily menu and bar item changes
- Maintain responsibility for a cash drawer
- Exceed guest expectations by anticipating needs and providing attentive service
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate if needed
- Conduct regular quality checks at the bar
- Maintain proper table upkeep during pizza service
- Ensure all food and liquor meet Colony Grill specifications
- Observe and enforce state liquor laws and ID verification
- Prevent overserving and manage intoxicated guests responsibly
- Maintain professional demeanor and attendance
- Adhere to all health code regulations and company standards
