Amavida is currently seeking a hospitality-focused Bartender to join its culinary team. This role is full-scope and hands-on, providing exceptional beverage service to residents, guests, and visitors within the community. The Bartender ensures a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere by adhering to high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization. With a commitment to outstanding service, this position involves taking drink orders, preparing and serving beverages with proper etiquette, and answering questions about menu and drink selections. Beyond serving, the role includes cleaning and maintaining the bar area, managing supplies and inventory, preparing garnishes, and accurately documenting resident and guest charges.

This position requires a candidate who is not only skilled in bartending but also enthusiastic about engaging with seniors and delivering a positive hospitality experience. Amavida values candidates who can work cooperatively with residents, families, supervisors, and colleagues, exhibiting courtesy, tact, and graciousness at all times. Open availability is essential, as evenings and weekends are required. The starting pay rate is $18 per hour, commensurate with experience. Notably, Amavida operates as a no-tipping community and recognizes its staff through an annual Staff Appreciation Resident-funded bonus program, highlighting its unique employee-focused culture.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience in food service work
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers
  • Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness
  • Open availability, including evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food service work
  • Experience in working with seniors preferred
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively
  • Experience bartending in a hotel, restaurant or club with fine dining experience preferred
  • Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers
  • Requires courtesy, tact and graciousness
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Always exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization
  • Serve customers using proper serving etiquette and promote an inviting dining atmosphere
  • Take orders, provide service and requested items graciously and courteously
  • Answer pertinent questions about menu and drink items
  • Clear all tableware from tables and bar after service
  • Clean all glassware and dishes, including ashtrays, and distribute
  • Stock, restock and rotate supplies
  • Prepare garnishes for bar use
  • Prepare snack trays
  • Maintain all documents necessary to accurately account for resident and guest charges
  • Assist supervisor with inventory of supplies
