The bartender role at HHM Hotels is a crucial position within the food and beverage department that directly influences the guest experience. The bartender is responsible for serving beverages and/or food courteously and efficiently to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar. Bartenders at HHM Hotels also play a part in verifying customer age for alcohol purchases, managing intoxicated guests according to established standards, and completing beverage requisitions to keep inventory levels optimized. Additionally, the position involves side work duties before shift end and participation in beverage inventory processes. Safety is prioritized through adherence to MSDS and OSHA standards, and bartenders must practice safe work habits including wearing protective equipment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred
  • Previous bartending/mixologist experience required or equivalent training
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as walking, pushing, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending and reaching
  • Ability to work varied schedules including holidays, weekends and different shifts
  • Food Sanitation certificate required within 90 days of employment
  • TIPS certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain clean and organize bar areas
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
  • Prepare and serve drink and/or food orders
  • If applicable, take orders, and serve and clear food and beverage to guests seated at tables in bar and lounge areas
  • Issue guest check and complete payment process
  • Follow standards for identifying and managing intoxicated guests
  • Complete beverage requisitions to maintain par levels as needed
  • Complete required side work prior to shift end
  • Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
  • Assist with taking beverage inventory
  • Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program
  • Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
  • Perform other duties as requested by management
