The role of Bartender at Grand Beach Hotel is integral to upholding the establishment's high standards of luxury service. The Bartender is responsible for delivering top-tier beverage service to guests with professionalism, accuracy, and warmth. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of beverages, and the ability to manage orders efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Bartenders at Grand Beach Hotel engage with guests to suggest beverages and menu items, answer questions, and ensure an enjoyable and safe experience. They are also responsible for correctly processing orders using the Point of Sale system, accounting for all beverage sales rigorously, and adhering to pouring standards to maintain quality and cost control.

Beyond serving drinks, the Bartender supports the overall guest experience by welcoming guests warmly, enforcing age identification policies, and managing guest interactions with a positive, respectful attitude that aligns with the hotel's policies on workplace behavior and guest relations. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum four years of experience in bartender or hospitality roles
  • Certification in Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including late hours, weekends and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle intoxicated guests safely
  • Physical ability to lift or move items up to 25 pounds
  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards

Job Qualifications

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Working knowledge of basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems
  • Four years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
  • Tolerance of all cultures
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner
  • Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
  • Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management and fellow Team Members (all with a smile)
  • Complies with hotel uniform and grooming standards

Job Duties

  • Serve food course and alcoholic beverages to guest
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
  • take orders
  • Answer guest questions, make recommendations, up-sell liquors
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Utilize the Point of Sales system to accurately account for and process all orders
  • Request identification from any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age
  • Remove dirty glasses, dishes, including lifting/moving of bus tubs up to 25lbs
  • Keep tables clean at all times
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at Grand Beach Hotel
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Team Member handbook
  • Report to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company’s personal appearance standards
  • Apply excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
  • Observe hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call handling procedures
  • Execute emergency procedures in accordance with hotel standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
  • Recycle whenever possible
  • Attend appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
  • Comply with hotel standards, policies and rules
  • Special projects and duties as assigned
