The Bartender role at Grand Beach Hotel is designed to uphold the highest standards of luxury service by providing attentive, courteous, and efficient beverage service to guests. The position involves directly interacting with guests by preparing and serving drinks, offering recommendations, and handling all beverage sales transactions accurately through the Point of Sales system. The bartender ensures compliance with responsible alcohol service policies including checking IDs for responsible serving and managing intoxicated guests safely. In addition, the role includes maintaining cleanliness and organization of bar stations and storerooms, adhering strictly to pouring measures and standard operating procedures to prevent wastage and ensure quality. This role requires a strong knowledge of various liquor brands, drink recipes, garnishes, and appropriate glassware to meet the sophisticated demands of the hotel's clientele.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years experience in bartending or similar customer service role
  • Must be legally eligible to serve alcohol
  • Responsible alcohol service certification or training required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to lift/move items up to 25lbs
  • Knowledge of point of sales systems
  • Commitment to company uniform and grooming standards

Job Qualifications

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work late hours
  • Working knowledge of basic food service, responsible alcohol service, drink recipes and garnishes, point of sales systems
  • 4 years work experience interacting with people in a positive environment
  • Tolerance of all cultures
  • Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or Equivalent
  • Ability to deal with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety minded manner

Job Duties

  • Serve food course and alcoholic beverages to guest
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
  • take orders
  • Answer guest questions, make recommendations, up-sell liquors
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Utilize the Point of Sales system to accurately account for and process all orders
  • Request identification from any guest who appears to be under 30 years of age
  • Remove dirty glasses, dishes, including lifting/moving of bus tubs up to 25lbs
  • Keep tables clean at all times
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware and garnishes at Grand Beach Hotel
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment/hostile work environment policy dictated in the Team Member handbook
  • Reports to work as scheduled, in proper uniform, in accordance with the company’s personal appearance standards
  • Applies excellent guest relations skills when interacting with guests
  • Observes hotel telephone etiquette, message, and call handling procedures
  • Special projects and duties as assigned
