Job Requirements

  • Must have two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
  • Must have accurate mathematic skills
  • Must have knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
  • Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
  • Knowledge of menu and specials
  • Knowledge of wine list
  • Knowledge of liquor list and recipes for special drinks
  • Knowledge of liquor liability laws
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Must be courteous, pleasant and good natured
  • Must communicate with and understand the average guest
  • Must provide a persona compatible with established image of restaurant
  • Must stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty
  • Must work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Must accurately work with and account for large sums of money
  • Must open beer, liquor and wine bottles frequently
  • When bar back is not available must be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack
  • Must move cases of beer, wine or liquor

Job Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in full service bar or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience in preparation of alcoholic beverages
  • Thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use
  • Knowledge of menu, specials, wine list, liquor list and recipes for special drinks
  • Understanding of liquor liability laws
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate cordially and clearly with guests and co-workers

Job Duties

  • Arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes and supplies in an efficient and professional manner according to standing operating procedure
  • Complete all side work when and as assigned
  • Prepare ingredients needed for recipes of mixed beverages
  • Safely use equipment and utensils as prescribed in preparation of beverages
  • Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content
  • Use proper method according to standing operating procedure to ensure exact alcohol pour measures
  • Count and be responsible for cash drawer
