Job Requirements

  • Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale
  • completion of bartender's training school may be substituted for experience
  • experience recognizing intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolving or seeking assistance
  • experience following proper cash handling procedures
  • ability to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods
  • physically able to frequently lift 5 to 10 pounds, pull and push 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift over 40 pounds
  • meet minimum age requirement for serving alcoholic beverages

Job Qualifications

  • experience following proper cash handling procedures
  • ability to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods
  • physical ability to lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds frequently, pull and push objects weighing 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds
  • meet the minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages
  • preferred one year experience as a bartender

Job Duties

  • Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages
  • prepare variety of alcoholic drinks selecting proper premix and garnish
  • serve patrons directly or deliver to wait staff
  • receive payment, operate cash register, and make and return change
  • prepare documentation for cash funds accountability
  • set up bar for operation and maintain it in a presentable and sanitary condition
  • ensure adequate stock level and organize storeroom and work area
  • maintain work area neat and clean and wash bar equipment, glassware, and utensils
  • stock service bars and assist higher level bartenders
  • complete required alcohol beverage service training and annual refresher training
  • identify and manage intoxicated or unruly patrons according to procedures
  • adhere to safety regulations and use required safety equipment
  • promptly report workplace hazards, injuries, illnesses, and property damage
  • perform other duties as assigned
