We are currently seeking a skilled Barista to join our dynamic team. This role requires a passionate individual who embodies the La Farm values of quality, dignity, community, learning, teaching, and innovation through their actions and communication. The Barista will be responsible for delivering world-class customer service while expertly crafting specialty coffee and tea beverages in a fast-paced environment. This position offers shifts from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM or 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM, including weekend availability, requiring flexibility and a commitment to performing consistently at a high standard.

As a Barista at La Farm, you will engage with customers by greeting them warmly within 15 seconds, using the CARE acronym to ensure exceptional service. Your expertise in coffee preparation will include crafting espresso, lattes, teas, and other specialty drinks both on and off the menu, complete with latte art. You will be knowledgeable about the coffee types used and their flavor notes to effectively support sales through product expertise and suggestive selling.

Operational responsibilities include preparing syrups from scratch, maintaining the coffee station's cleanliness and organization, stocking supplies, managing equipment such as brewers, grinders, and espresso machines, and adhering to safety and sanitation standards to maintain an "A" grade or better during inspections. Additional duties involve answering phones per company standards, completing daily checklists, assisting with table bussing when needed, and following policies for opening and closing the unit.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated exceptional customer service skills, experience with food or customer service environments, and a passion for coffee, including comfort with manual espresso machines. Strong problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, and the capability to work well under pressure are essential. Team players with a positive attitude and excellent relationship-building skills will thrive in this role. We value flexibility, and candidates must be willing to work weekends and holidays, with two days off that are not consecutive.

This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Multilingual abilities are a plus that will enhance communication within our diverse community.
