Job Description

The Cooper is a distinguished fine dining restaurant renowned for its exceptional service and exquisite menu offerings, including an extensive selection of beverages, wine, and food. As part of the hospitality group BHC, the establishment prides itself on maintaining high standards of quality, professionalism, and guest satisfaction. The Cooper offers an inviting atmosphere where patrons can enjoy expertly crafted drinks and a curated dining experience designed to meet the expectations of discerning guests. With a commitment to excellence, The Cooper ensures that all service staff, particularly baristas, meet rigorous standards through continuous training and adherence to service manuals addressing food, beverage, and wine specifications.

The role of the Barista at The Cooper is integral to the overall guest experience, combining mixology skills with comprehensive knowledge of coffee, tea, and a wide array of beverages. This position requires an individual who is not only responsible for preparing and serving drinks and food but also for managing bar operations, presenting menu options persuasively, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bar and surrounding service areas. The Barista must excel in guest interaction by knowing patrons' preferences, recommending wines, ensuring quality service, and fostering a warm, professional ambiance.

Working effectively as part of a team is critical, as is clear communication with managers, chefs, and other front-of-house staff to accommodate VIP guests and special requests. Additionally, the Barista is expected to facilitate pre-shift meetings, deliver ongoing training to new hires, and stay updated on menu changes and daily features. Attention to detail extends to following health and safety regulations, managing inventory, and using POS systems efficiently. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, mobility across the restaurant, and handling substantial loads when necessary.

This full-time position demands a mix of technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and dedication to maintaining high hospitality standards. The cooperative team environment coupled with The Cooper's esteemed reputation provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about fine dining and beverage service to enrich their careers. The employer values diversity and ensures all employment decisions align with merit and business needs in compliance with equal opportunity laws. At The Cooper, employees are encouraged to grow professionally while contributing to a reputable dining experience appreciated by both locals and visitors.
