The role of Barista at Parkhurst Dining is a vital position responsible for delivering high-quality food and beverage service within a friendly and professional setting. This position offers a work schedule from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a balanced work-life dynamic. The Barista is responsible for brewing coffee, including specialty and flavor-of-the-day drinks, strictly following Parkhurst recipes, and maintaining well-stocked display and service areas. Duties also include handling cash transactions with accuracy, merchandising products thoughtfully, and adhering to a rigorous cleaning schedule using clean-as-you-go techniques to maintain sanitary conditions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Standing and/or walking for 50 percent of time
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform all essential duties as assigned
  • Availability to work scheduled hours from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Compliance with uniform dress code and personal hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Brew Barista coffee along with flavor of the day coffee
  • Make specialty drinks to order, following all Parkhurst recipes
  • Price and stock all grab and go items
  • Adhere to all cash handling procedures
  • Stock coffee bean bins and keep them full at all times
  • Interact with our guests in a friendly, professional manner
  • Merchandise area using Barista signage and other approved materials
  • Follow cleaning schedule as provided by management, using clean as you go techniques
  • Maintain an open line of communication with management, informing them of products and supplies needed
  • Follow the uniform dress code and maintain proper personal hygiene
  • Follow all Parkhurst Hospitality Gold Standards
  • Use Smile Plus hospitality imperatives
  • Assist fellow team members at every opportunity
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
