Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Availability to work 2pm to 9pm shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Basic cash handling skills
- Adherence to health and safety guidelines
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills for handling payments
- Knowledge of coffee blends and preparation techniques is an asset
- Customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Educating customers on our drink menu
- Making recommendations based on customer preferences
- Greeting customers as they enter
- Giving customers drink menus and answering questions regarding ingredients
- Up-selling special items and taking orders
- Taking orders while paying attention to details such as preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios
- Preparing beverages following recipes
- Serving beverages and prepared foods such as cookies, pastries and muffins
- Receiving and processing payments via cash and credit cards
- Keeping work area clean
- Maintaining stock of clean mugs and plates
- Checking to be sure brewing equipment is operating properly and reporting any maintenance needs
- Complying with health and safety regulations
