Job Description

Peet's Coffee is a renowned specialty coffee retailer and roaster that has been passionately dedicated to delivering exceptional coffee experiences since its inception. Known for its commitment to high-quality beans and meticulous roasting techniques, Peet's Coffee has cultivated a loyal customer base and a respected reputation in the coffee industry. The company operates numerous stores across various locations, creating inviting spaces where coffee lovers can gather, savor expertly crafted beverages, and enjoy a warm, community-focused environment. Peet's Coffee emphasizes authenticity, quality, and sustainability, partnering with farmers and organizations to improve coffee-growing communities worldwide.

The opportunity available at Peet's Coffee is for the position of Barista, a frontline role vital to the customer experience and overall store performance. This employment opportunity is designed to attract individuals who are passionate about coffee, eager to engage with customers, and committed to maintaining Peet's high standards of service and product quality. Baristas at Peet's are the ambassadors of the brand, responsible for preparing handcrafted beverages and products that meet exacting taste, appearance, and consistency standards. As a Barista, individuals will work closely with a team in a fast-paced environment, delivering exceptional service, maintaining a clean and organized coffee bar, and driving sales through suggestive selling and product education.

The position offers competitive pay of $17.25 per hour, with the potential to earn an additional $3.00 to $6.00 per hour through cash and electronic tips, making it a rewarding role both professionally and financially. Peet's Coffee provides a range of benefits for employees who work 21 hours or more per week, including medical, dental, and vision options, paid vacation accrual after four months of employment, free coffee and tea beverages, employee discounts, and a 401k plan with generous matching for those eligible. Additionally, Peet's supports employee growth with opportunities for tuition scholarships through Oregon State University's E-Campus, emphasizing career development and continuous learning.

The company fosters an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture, valuing diversity and equal opportunity for all employees. Baristas will be part of a team-oriented environment that encourages collaboration, feedback, and initiative to support smooth operational flow. The role requires flexibility with scheduling, as business needs can include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays. Physical tasks are part of the work, and individuals are expected to maintain reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude while managing the demands of a dynamic café setting.

Peet's Coffee is not only dedicated to crafting excellent coffee but also to making a meaningful impact through purposeful work. Their partnership with Enveritas, a non-profit organization, reflects their commitment to improving conditions on coffee farms globally. This social responsibility element adds depth to the Barista role, enabling employees to be proud contributors to a larger mission beyond the café counter. Joining Peet's Coffee as a Barista means becoming part of a brand that values quality craft, community, sustainability, and employee well-being. This is a unique career opportunity for those eager to grow within the specialty coffee industry and be part of a vibrant, mission-driven company.
