Set to open in early 2026, the Monarch is inspired by the Monarch butterfly, a symbol of transformation and migration that passes through the region each winter. This 17-story luxury hotel will offer an impressive range of amenities, including a full-service spa, terrace pool, and five unique food and beverage concepts, featuring a rooftop restaurant and bar. Within this exciting venture, the Barista role at The Nectarie Cafe is a vital position. The Barista will be responsible for delivering consistently warm and thoughtful coffee and beverage service in a welcoming and relaxed café environment. This role demands expertise in preparing high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty drinks aligned with brand standards and superior hospitality. Additionally, the Barista’s engagement with guests will emphasize genuine attention to detail and an inviting atmosphere that reflects the café’s quality and ethos. Operational responsibilities include managing point of sale systems, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and adhering to safety and health standards, ensuring an optimal guest experience. The position requires teamwork, professionalism, and a positive attitude, with an emphasis on continuous improvement through coaching and feedback. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous barista or coffee service experience preferred
- Knowledge of espresso equipment and coffee preparation methods preferred
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Food and alcohol service certifications required or ability to obtain
- Availability to work mornings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of espresso equipment and coffee preparation methods preferred

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and presentation of all beverages
- Demonstrate knowledge of coffee preparation methods, espresso extraction, and milk steaming
- Maintain quality standards for taste, temperature, and appearance
- Greet guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service
- Assist guests with menu selections and beverage recommendations
- Maintain awareness of guest needs and respond promptly to requests
- Operate point of sale systems accurately and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, equipment, and service areas
- Follow opening and closing procedures and complete side work duties
- Restock supplies and communicate inventory needs to leadership
- Work collaboratively with cafe team members and leadership
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude
- Demonstrate reliability, efficiency, and attention to detail
- Accept coaching and feedback to support continuous improvement
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling standards
- Adhere to company policies and brand standards
