NC State Dining is a premier food service provider at North Carolina State University, committed to delivering excellent dining experiences across the campus community. The department operates a diverse portfolio of dining options including 11 cafes, 3 food courts, 6 dining halls, 3 markets, 2 restaurants, vending services, nutritional counseling, and a catering department. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to supervise staff and coordinate team activities
- Ability to prepare beverages and food products according to standard recipes
- Knowledge of proper health and safety protocol
- Experience with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to perform cleaning duties
- Flexibility to work varied shifts
- Must comply with the State required 32-day break policy
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food service or retail environment preferred
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and cash handling experience
- Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Provide exemplary customer service to every guest
- Prepare quality beverages such as espresso-based drinks, shakes, smoothies, and food products according to recipe and presentation standards
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a Grade "A" sanitary environment
- Accurately process transactions using the point of sale (POS) system following revenue handling procedures
- Perform necessary cleaning tasks and assist with receiving and stocking merchandise
- Assist with opening and closing duties of the unit as assigned
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of Baristas
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet NC State Dining business needs
- May assist in other locations as necessary
