The position of Barista at JW Marriott, reporting directly to the Starbucks Manager, is integral to maintaining the high service standards associated with both JW Marriott and Starbucks. Candidates for this role should ideally have at least one year of experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service position. Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and an ability to work effectively with team members are essential. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting, and handling materials in a fast-paced, sometimes noisy environment, typical of a luxury hotel food and beverage setting.

Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid Clark County Health Card
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, touch, climb, lift, and read for extended periods of time (5 hours+)
- Must be able to regularly and safely lift and move boxes, supplies, and materials weighing 50 lbs or more
- Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 150 lbs
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, noisy, and sometimes limited movement environment
- Must be able to maintain sanitation, food safety, and other food service environment requirements
- Requires eye/hand coordination
- May require basic math with the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols
Job Qualifications
- 1 year experience preferred
- Must maintain a friendly, professional demeanor and work effectively with all team members
- Demonstrates clear verbal, listening, and written communication
- Must be neat, clean, and well-groomed at all times
- Familiar with the menu, preparation procedures, and pricing
- Ability to perform simple calculations for billing, change, and split checks accurately
Job Duties
- Prepare and execute all menu items according to established standards and instructions from culinary leadership
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment at all times
- Assist with daily requisitions, ensuring proper rotation and storage of supplies
- Restock dishes, silverware, and other essentials as needed to support operations
- Welcome and engage with every guest to deliver exceptional customer service
- Identify customer needs and make appropriate product recommendations to enhance the guest experience and achieve sales goals
- Learn and consistently demonstrate the "Starbucks Experience" in all interactions
- Maintain equipment and service areas in a clean, appealing, and functional condition
- Comply with JW Marriott cash handling procedures and point-of-sale standards
- Complete "Initial Store Training" and achieve Barista certification with a score of 90% or higher
- Follow proper procedures for ringing guest checks and handling cash transactions accurately
- Perform all assigned side work duties according to established schedules
- Respond to reasonable management requests and support team efforts within role capabilities
