We are currently seeking dependable Shift Leads who thrive in a fast-paced café environment. The Shift Lead role is pivotal, combining hands-on beverage preparation skill with strong leadership qualities to manage shifts smoothly. This position requires making a variety of coffee and tea-based beverages, including intricate latte art, while maintaining exceptional customer service throughout the day. Shift Leads will ensure every corner of the café, including the bathroom, patio spaces, and behind the bar, is clean and presentable, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both staff and customers.

This role involves a balance of front-line interaction with customers, detailed order management using Revel POS, and operational responsibilities such as handling cash, balancing tills, and managing product inventory within set budgets. Shift Leads will also be expected to train new staff members, recruit and attract new talent, purchase necessary goods, and comply fully with health and safety regulations. Time management skills are crucial, as punctuality and adherence to scheduled shifts are mandatory.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, friendly, capable of lifting 30 pounds comfortably, and adapt at multitasking during busy periods without compromising quality or service standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining the café’s reputation by delivering excellent products quickly—efficiently preparing food and beverages to meet fast ticket times, dating large-batch food and drinks to ensure freshness, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the café.

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role

Job Duties

  • Greeting and welcoming customers
  • Taking orders over Revel POS
  • Memorizing and giving detailed descriptions of drinks and food
  • Making coffee and tea beverages at a high level including latte art

  • Dating food and beverage product made in large batches
