The role of Barista at the Jet Set Lounge (MK Retail) presents an exciting opportunity for individuals enthusiastic about fashion, coffee culture, and delivering excellent customer experiences. As a Barista, you will serve as the face of the Michael Kors brand in a unique retail setting combining luxury fashion with a high-end coffee lounge experience. This role goes beyond typical barista responsibilities by incorporating storytelling about the brand, educating guests on beverage offerings as well as retail products, and providing personalized service that enhances overall guest satisfaction. The Barista position is integral to creating a memorable and engaging environment that balances craftsmanship and hospitality.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages meeting brand standards. Job Requirements
- 2+ year of experience in guest-focused industries such as restaurants, bars, theaters, kitchens, specialty retail, or hospitality
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele
- Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
- Ability to meet store scheduling and availability expectations including weekends, holidays, and high retail traffic days
- A NY Food Handler Certificate and understanding of Department of Health rules related to Food Service and Employee + Guest Safety
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to brand standards
- Proactively anticipate customer and store needs by assessing the environment and recognizing guest cues, while consistently delivering an elevated, personalized service experience to every customer
- Provide genuine, personalized customer service, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued
- Educate guests on our beverage menu, brewing methods, and retail products
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café and retail environment
- Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service between café and retail
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and standards
- Demonstrate flexibility and perform tasks with speed and excellence
