Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Related experience in hotel or hospitality preferred
  • Must be able to stand during entire shift
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Must be attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance as per scheduling
  • Show initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Must be able to cross-train in other areas
  • Flexible and long working hours sometimes required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of menu and specials
  • Ability to use credit card machines and handle cash
  • Ability to work flexible and long hours

  • Willingness to attend training and meetings

Job Duties

  • Accept payment for food and beverages and make proper change
  • Assist Host/Hostess in greeting and seating guests promptly
  • Help servers as needed to ensure smooth service
  • Collect money and/or credit cards from guests and servers
  • Operate approved credit card machines
  • Prepare cashier report at end of shift
  • Pay out servers’ and service attendants’ tips
  • Greet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely manner
  • Perform opening and closing duties as per checklist
  • Take room service orders according to hotel standards
  • Answer the phone and communicate courteously
  • Maintain quality control of menus
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction
