The Altona Gas Bar is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista to join their team on a part-time permanent basis, with the potential for this position to expand into full time. The Barista will play a crucial role in ensuring excellent customer service while expertly preparing a variety of high-quality coffee beverages and fresh menu items. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented and able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment. Responsibilities include opening duties such as cleaning and prep work, preparing menu items so they are fresh and ready for customers, and efficiently handling orders with attention to accuracy and customer satisfaction.

A key aspect of this role is operating the espresso machine to craft café-style beverages like lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos, upholding the highest coffee standards that reflect the Sun Valley Co-op brand. The Barista will also manage the point of sale system, ensuring smooth and precise transactions. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to maintain composure during busy rush periods are vital to succeed in this role.
