The Jet Set Lounge within Michael Kors represents a unique retail and hospitality fusion, where style meets superior coffee craftsmanship. Hiring for the role of Barista, the company seeks individuals passionate about coffee, customer service, and luxury retail experiences. This position is key in the Lounge's operating success, serving as the brand ambassador responsible for crafting high-quality coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to brand standards. Beyond the technical skills of beverage preparation, the Barista will provide personalized customer service, create memorable guest experiences by blending hospitality with storytelling about the product offerings, and ensure seamless collaboration with retail operations.

The Barista will maintain cleanliness and order, support daily operations including cash handling and inventory, and comply with health, safety, and sanitation standards. Job Requirements

2+ year of experience in guest-focused industries such as restaurants, bars, theaters, kitchens, specialty retail, or hospitality
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele
Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English is required

Ability to meet store scheduling and availability expectations, including the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and high retail traffic and sales days, including but not limited to the day after Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Christmas Eve, Mother’s Day, etc
A NY Food Handler Certificate and an understanding of how to abide by the rules of the Department of Health related to Food Service and Employee + Guest Safety

Job Qualifications

2+ years of experience in guest-focused industries such as restaurants, bars, theaters, kitchens, specialty retail, or hospitality
Strong communication skills and ability to engage with diverse clientele
Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English
Ability to meet store scheduling and availability expectations, including the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and high retail traffic and sales days
A NY Food Handler Certificate and understanding of Department of Health food service and employee + guest safety regulations
Strong attention to detail with proven ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively
Energetic, motivated, and results-driven with a positive approach to teamwork
Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
Tech-savvy and highly organized, with ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes
Passion for coffee, customer service, and creating unique guest experiences

Job Duties

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to brand standards
Proactively anticipate customer and store needs by assessing the environment and recognizing guest cues, while consistently delivering an elevated, personalized service experience to every customer
Provide genuine, personalized customer service, ensuring each guest feels welcomed and valued
Educate guests on our beverage menu, brewing methods, and retail products
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café and retail environment
Support daily operations, including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless service between café and retail
Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and standards
Demonstrate flexibility and perform tasks with speed and excellence
