The role of Barista (Part-Time) at Cafe Vita - Smith Tower offers an opportunity to engage in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment where delivering high-quality coffee and beverage experiences is central. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about coffee culture and providing outstanding customer service. Baristas at Cafe Vita are responsible for preparing and serving a variety of coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages following company standards while creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and safety in the cafe or coffee bar, ensuring smooth daily operations, and supporting team members during busy periods. Compensation ranges from $21.30 to $21.50 per hour depending on experience, with additional benefits such as tip pooling and daily pay options. Beyond the tangible perks, Columbia Hospitality emphasizes a values-based culture that promotes balance, growth, and inclusivity among its team members.
The Barista position goes beyond the traditional coffee-making duties by incorporating elements of hospitality that contribute to exceptional guest experiences. This includes greeting guests warmly, providing product recommendations, and handling transactions accurately using Point of Sale systems. The role also requires attention to detail in restocking supplies, monitoring inventory, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards, and assisting in training new employees. Flexibility is key, as the job may require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Candidates benefit from an employer who offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance, 401K plans, HSA/FSA options with employer contributions, and unique perks such as discounted travel, lodging, dining, and even spa and golf amenities. Through ongoing learning opportunities and participation in company committees and volunteer initiatives, Baristas at Cafe Vita are encouraged to develop their skills and contribute to the vibrant culture that Columbia Hospitality proudly cultivates.
