The opportunity at hand is a part-time position located at Family Fare in Fargo, North Dakota. This role centers on contributing to the customer experience in the coffee shop setting by expertly preparing beverages and food, managing point-of-sale transactions, and ensuring operational standards are met. The coffee shop team member will be instrumental in maintaining a welcoming environment that reflects SpartanNash's commitment to quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include brewing, mixing, or blending coffee shop beverages according to set standards, preparing food items with care and precision, and operating the cash register efficiently to handle multiple payment types. In addition, the role calls for maintaining cleanliness and organization within the department, adhering to food safety protocols and company policies related to security and cash handling. This position requires a proactive approach to inventory management by notifying supervisors when supplies need replenishment and actively communicating ongoing store promotions, loyalty programs, and specials to customers. Furthermore, candidates should be prepared to collaborate flexibly by possibly assisting other departments as needed to enhance the customer experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year of retail or related experience preferred
  • good verbal communication skills
  • ability to interact politely and effectively with customers
  • good customer service and organizational skills
  • detail-oriented
  • basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills
  • ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
  • willingness to work in varied temperature environments
  • must follow all safety and food handling guidelines

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare coffee shop beverages
  • brew, mix and/or blend beverages according to set standards
  • prepare food items according to procedures
  • ensure food and beverages are handled safely and work environment is clean
  • operate cash register to itemize purchases and process payments
  • stock and rotate coffee items and merchandise displays
  • communicate store programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers
  • comply with company policies on security and cash handling
  • maintain clean and well-stocked department
  • follow all PPE, safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations
  • may assist other departments as assigned
  • additional responsibilities as needed
