Job Description
Aparium Hotel Group is a renowned hospitality company distinguished for its commitment to delivering exceptional and unique hotel experiences. Founded in 2011 by Chicago hospitality executive Mario Tricoci and luxury hotel veteran Kevin Robinson, Aparium Hotel Group was created to bring high-level, c-suite service and accommodations to important yet underserved cities, while preserving and celebrating the distinct character of each location. The company's guiding philosophy revolves around the power of People, Place, and Character, ensuring that each property honors the community it serves and fosters pride among its associates. Located in the heart of historic Ybor City, Tampa, Hotel Haya is one of Aparium’s newest and most vibrant properties. It blends Cuban, Italian, and Spanish influences, featuring 178 guest rooms, over 7,000 square feet of banquet space, a world-class restaurant, a bright and inviting café, and a lush courtyard with a pool. This distinctive atmosphere provides a dynamic backdrop for both guests and associates, who experience the rich cultural tapestry of the neighborhood while delivering impeccable service.
The role of Café Barista at Hotel Haya, under the Aparium Hotel Group umbrella, is an integral part of the food and beverage operations and is a crucial position for ensuring guest satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Food and Beverage Managers and the Director of Food and Beverage and is classified as a non-exempt role. As a Café Barista, you will be a frontline ambassador of the hotel’s hospitality values. The ideal candidate is not only passionate about coffee but is deeply engaged in creating memorable guest experiences by providing friendly and precise service. You will manage every aspect of the guest’s visit to the café, from offering warm greetings to crafting exquisite coffee and tea beverages tailored to individual preferences. The position demands a strong command of coffee-making techniques and product knowledge to enrich guest interactions and elevate their experience.
Working as a Café Barista at Aparium means being part of a collaborative, humble, and experienced team that values diversity, individuality, and mutual respect. You will work alongside servers, bartenders, cooks, and other service professionals who share a commitment to delivering outstanding hospitality. This role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the round-the-clock nature of hospitality services. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods are essential in this role. The job also involves regular communication and cooperation with food and beverage and culinary teams to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of orders.
Beyond the job responsibilities, the Aparium Hotel Group offers a supportive work environment focused on inclusion and equity, celebrating the diverse backgrounds and strengths of its employees. The company provides practical benefits such as free parking in Ybor, complimentary meals prepared by in-house culinary experts during shifts, up to 50% discounts on dining as a guest, and greatly discounted room rates for out-of-town visitors. Aparium is a smoke-free, drug-free workplace that fosters a culture of respect and integrity. If you have a passion for coffee, hospitality, and community connection, this role as Café Barista offers a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity within a sophisticated and culturally rich hotel setting.
