Known as "The World's Gathering Place," Sheraton is dedicated to providing engaging experiences and thoughtful service that connect and welcome guests from all walks of life. The brand strives to foster a diverse and inclusive environment where the unique backgrounds, talents, and experiences of its associates are valued and celebrated. Marriott International, the parent company, is recognized for its commitment to equal opportunity employment and providing access to opportunity to all individuals regardless of disability, veteran status, or any other protected basis under applicable law. Serving as a key player in the hospitality industry, Sheraton is part of a portfolio of reputable brands under Marriott International, offering robust career paths and a culture rooted in teamwork, respect, and a passion for service excellence.

This job opportunity is for a team member position at Sheraton, focusing on opening and closing duties vital to the daily operations of the hotel’s food and beverage services. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the work environment by setting up supplies and tools, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing the premises by locking doors at closing. The role requires proficiency in handling customer orders by inputting them into the MICROS system, processing payments through the cash register system, and preparing food and coffee beverages. Team members are expected to ensure the proper operation of appliances such as coffee makers, maintaining cleanliness by bussing tables and coffee cart areas, and cleaning dishes and utensils continuously throughout their shift. The position also involves managing cash processes by obtaining change for expected business levels, counting the bank at the end of the shift, completing cashier reports accurately, reconciling discrepancies, securing receipts, and safeguarding the bank.

Safety, security, and quality are integral aspects of this role. Associates will need to follow all company policies and procedures, report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions promptly to management, and complete all required safety training and certifications. Personal presentation is important, with emphasis placed on maintaining a clean and professional uniform and appearance. Confidentiality and protection of company assets are also critical responsibilities.

The role demands excellent guest service skills, including welcoming and acknowledging guests in line with company standards, anticipating and addressing their needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation to all guests. Clear and professional communication is essential, alongside the ability to develop positive working relationships within the team and contribute to collective goals.

Physical demands include prolonged standing, sitting, or walking during shifts, as well as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects typically weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Employees must be capable of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently. They should be comfortable maneuvering through narrow or confined spaces, climbing stairs or ramps, and performing bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching movements. The job also involves visually inspecting equipment for defects and ensuring that all quality standards and expectations are consistently met.

Preferred qualifications for this role include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, though no prior related work experience or supervisory experience is required, making it an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals aiming to launch a career in hospitality. Sheraton provides a comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts, life and disability insurance, accident insurance, paid parental leave, educational assistance, 401(k) plans, stock purchase plans, commuter benefits, employee assistance programs, and childcare discounts. Washington state employees accrue paid sick leave and receive a minimum of seven holidays annually.

Joining Sheraton means becoming part of a vibrant, diverse global community dedicated to delivering outstanding guest experiences. This role offers a pathway to develop vital skills in hospitality, customer service, and teamwork while benefiting from one of the world's leading hotel brands' extensive resources and career development opportunities.
